Indian Institute of Information Technology – [IIIT] is a well-known institute among the 20 IIITs. IIITs are being funded, set up, developed, and managed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), which is working under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. It is a new approach to developing technical skills in students with the partnership with the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, HP Power Corporation Limited, the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, and HP Transmission Corporation Limited. Students can take admitted in the IIIT, Una to the undergraduate programmes through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). IIIT, Una was established in the year 2014 at Una district in Himachal Pradesh (HP).  Currently, IIIT Una is setup, manages and operates from its temporary premises of Transit Campus-I (NIT Campus, Hamirpur), Transit Campus-II (Dev Bhumy Group of Institutes, Una, HP. Besides, the permanent campus is coming up in Una, Himachal Pradesh.

Importance of IIIT

IIIT Una has achieved 100 % placement in the last two years. Students are placed by the campus placements. IIIT Una offers graduation (B. Tech.) in main three streams, which are Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Information Technology. It is a four years course with a semester system. Moreover, IIIT Una has signed up MoU with other IITs to develop a centre for excellence labs and courses including IIT, Mandi, IIT Ropar, and others. IIIT Una has plans to implement advanced technology for the growth of students such as Robotics, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Nanoelectronics, and the Internet of Things (IoT). It has managed the whole program with the help of a perfect curriculum in which students can take benefit from a dedicated industry internship for a full semester.

Counselling

You can take admission based on the JEE Main Examination scorecard in which the whole counselling process will complete by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) as well as the Central Seat allocation Board. Currently, IIIT Una can take 176 students in a single slot in different branches. They can show their creativity and innovation to solve real-world problems. Moreover, design thinking workshops are also going on to develop the thinking power of students.
